Marine Street Beach in La Jolla, CA


La Jolla Marine Street Beach is located in the upscale community near a small cluster of high end boutiques, shops, galleries and hotels. Due to it's thunderous waves which always seem to crash the shoreline at the right time The Marine Street Beach in La Jolla is a favorite spot for body boarders and body surfers.

You need to keep in mind that this beach may not be an ideal place for families because there are no public restrooms or picnic areas and the rough surf
conditions aren't well suited for families with children. If you have children, you may want to find another beach such as La Jolla Shores, La Jolla Cove or Children’s Pool.

Even though Marine Street Beach in La Jolla isn't the best family beach it offers plenty of gorgeous white sand and privacy for a fun day of people watching and sunbathing with friends.

In the past the rough waves at this beach have been known to seriously injure body boarders and swimmers. You should always remember to respect both the water and the waves here especially if you aren't that experienced in the water. So, always be aware of your surroundings when entering the water and carefully monitor the wave activity.

The lifeguards are stationed on the beach During the summer months and on peak weekends during the fall and spring. Park on the street at La Jolla Marine Street Beach because there are no designated public parking lots here. Try to get here early because it can be very challenging to find a parking space, especially on the weekends and during summer months.

La Jolla Marine Street Beach driving directions: If you are coming from the north, you should take I-5 S toward San Diego, take exit 28 for La Jolla Village Drive, turn right onto La Jolla Village Drive, turn left onto Torrey Pines Road. Drive into downtown La Jolla, turn left on Girard Avenue then right on Pearl Street. Turn left at La Jolla Boulevard then right on Marine Street.

From the south, take I-5 N toward Los Angeles, take exit 26A for W La Jolla Pkwy, continue onto Torrey Pines Road. Once you arrive in La Jolla Downtown, just follow the same directions from above.
